		<description>I was recently working on a Verizon 8830 and found that while the GPS is configured to work for 911 use only, it is a simple setting change from the options screen to activate the location finding features of the GPS. </description>

		<description>VZ has disabled the GPS on the 8830 (for now).  Hopefully they will see the light.  Even without the GPS the map functionality is great!Thanks for the tip.Dave </description>
