New compact technology for your mobile real estate business
By Reggie · October 4, 2007
Are you a mobile real estate agent? If so, you know that mobile broadband technology has seen some major improvements over the last few years. Well, tomorrow (October 5th) you will see another step forward in mobile computing technology as Verizon introduces their new compact external broadband modem. The
USB727 is claimed to be the world’s smallest
EV-DO (Evolution-Data Optimized) modem. That’s right, no more huge hardware attachments awkwardly hanging from your laptop. This new modem boasts download speeds from 600kbps to 1.4Mbps and upload speeds around 350 to 500kbps. As if the small size was not alluring enough, the USB727 has integrated microSD, meaning that you can store up to 4 GB of files for your mobile business.
Also note that Sprint will be launching the device next month under the name U727.

You know, I’m constantly seeing new reasons why I might go back to a notebook rig but if I can function with my TREO 755p and use logmein.com when I absolutely MUST then I’m happy so far… this is interesting though and one day I’m sure I’ll be dragging around a notebook computer. I’d rather just have a plug in my neck and think the commands with a virtual heads up display through my left eyeball though.
ahhh, someday right?
(I’m not really joking around, it’s a constant dream of mine but this new eV-DO modem will have to do in the meantime)
