I agree with you Howard. I am looking to buy a computer for my father. Me, my brother, and my mother are all Mac users, but my father is stubborn. Plus, almost all real estate programs are for Windows only. They need to join the 21st century and realize Mac ARE the future and the future is NOW... Literally, since this article is three years old. lol. Things in real estate STILL haven't changed.

As is predictable in the real estate industry, the Apple Macintosh is not even mentioned in the article. For those who are intimidated by technology or simply want a user-friendly interface, Apple is the only way to go.As for those real estate software developers who offer Windows-only products, they will soon go the way of the ark or simply offer web-based products that are compatible with all platforms. With that said, Macs run run Windows too.As Apple founder Steve Jobs stated, "There is an entire generation of future users running around with an Apple hard drive in their pockets." (iPods and iPhones). This industry needs to read between the lines and understand that Apple is not going away and provides a real alternative to Windows and Vista.

Solid State Drives are starting to appear as costly options in ultra-portable laptops. While they are faster, run cooler and require less energy, the current capacity limitations and high cost per GB will keep these from mainstream laptop for awhile. There is a class of hard drive called hybrid drives that use a tradional hard drive with flash memory strapped to it. This design get you some of the benefit of the solid state drives while keeping the price down and the capacity up. Expect these drives to become popular before the solid state drives do.
