Make Real Estate Personal with Eyejot Video Email

By NikNik · September 22, 2008

Make it personal….make it with Eyejot! New technology makes sending video email to your real estate clients a snap…thanks to Eyejot.com.  To get started, you will obviously need a Webcam.  I like the Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000, but just about any Webcam will do. Visit Eyejot.com and sign up for free! Take a snapshot of yourself and select your preferences. Then you’re ready to start sending emails. The FREE version of Eyejot allows you to record up to 60 seconds of video.  Sending your video is as easy as clicking a button and you can manage all your video messages from Eyejot’s online interface.

Why video email?

How many times have you misinterpreting someone’s text email? It’s happened to me! Video can express emotion…if you’re happy, it’s obvious to see that on video without having to use forty exclamation marks. It’s also quicker to send video than to compose a long explanatory email.

When it comes to real estate, there are a variety of benefits to sending video emails.  You can easily keep in contact with relocation clients. And in the local sphere, why not send market updates to your current buyers and sellers. Even stay connected with past clients and referrals by sending personal holiday or birthday greetings. A personal video message can make an impressive impact vs. a regular email or email blast, where your client is one of many in the bcc field.   Oh, and Eyejot is easy to use. Sending is a snap with nothing to install. And even your non-techie recipients can push a play button!

Eyejot Features & Upgrades

You can use the Eyejot widget for your blog or Website. This way when people visit your Website and want to contact you, you can give them a fun new option.  Eyejot also includes an iTunes/RSS feature that makes it possible for you to subscribe to your Eyejot messages from iTunes or RSS reader. Eyejot will also send you weekly summary of video email activity so that you can better manage your follow-up.

You can upgrade to Eyejot Pro and receive additional features and benefits, including pre-recorded video upload, enhanced mobile inbox, and extending recording time to 5 minutes.  The cost is $29.95 for the year. But for $99.95 a year I would go for Eyejot Pro Plus. It’s the perfect business package. Why you ask? Well, you can add your branding to just about all your Eyejot features and displays (including your message viewing pages), you can access status messages to see when your video mails are viewed and you can attach documents to your Eyejot emails. Well worth the cost if this is a tool you could see yourself using a regular basis!<–>

  1. Nicole, you know I love Eyejot, so it’s good to see this post. I wanted to highlight one feature that you didn’t mention, however.

  2. :) I love how Daryn’s face showed up when I used my eyejot profile as the website URL on the comment above. :)

  3. Hey Jeff…thanks for demonstrating the bookmarklet feature. Super cool and very effective way to brand yourself!

BTW-The plugin we are using for comment pics is apparently having issues (its days are numbered).

OR you are starring in your own Face Off with Daryn?! :)

  4. Haha. If you’re gonna steal a face, I’d suggest you set your target a little higher :)

  5. Yeah, I’ve had that happen with clients when I write them an email and they get offended because they take it in the wrong way.

Video will definitely solve this problem. But video does not allow the editing that you can do with email. Emails is quick, video may take longer, and I have so few hours in a day…But for specific purpose built emails, very cool!

  6. Actually it’s A LOT quicker to send a video response if you just shoot from the hip then composing an email. With Eyejot, you’re using your Webcam…so it’s simply a process of pushing the record button and saying what you want to express. Nothing to edit…just add the email address and send. I think it’s more about your comfort level with video. Now if you re-record your message 40 times then “yes” I would say that standard email is the better choice for you. :)

  7. The reaction you almost always get with sending video is ‘awesome!’ People like it…they like to see YOU talking to them. It’s different, ya know?

Anyway, the Eyejot Bookmarklet feature also just happens to be da best! Talk about good branding…

  8. Do you need an upgraded version of eyejot for this? If so, which one?

  10. i use http://www.jiveSYSTEMS.com b/c they let me record up to a 60min video. it costs though, i pay $37/m. but since i can record, store and send as much video as i want it’s well worth it for me. though i think they are geared more toward business users and marketers: support, training, and coaching is included.

  11. Hey today i´ve use eyejot first time, and it´s great! Better than all other comparable progs together… :)
I would build an link on my page because everybody should use it!
    Thx for this blog

  12. I just got hooked on video email . It’s amazing and makes an immediate visual impression & sets your email apart (also great for branding). Like you say, you can express much more with it. In fact, I sent Christmas video emails using TalkFusion (a lawyer friend recommended it). http://tinyurl.com/3q3aab

It’s not free ($349 + $20/mo but they did send me a Logitech Pro 9000–sweet) but the product is versatile– you can design your own templates (or use theirs -pretty slick– and save videos.) You can record yourself and/or add videos– up to 5 minutes. The best part is you can input 1000 email addresses and send unlimited video emails. Plus you can check mail forwarding & open stats. Heck, this sounds like a commercial. check it out http://tinyurl.com/3qfdx6
    (disclosure: I’m a dealer too )

  13. Thanks NikNik,

I just got a new laptop with a webcam built in & just sent my first video email. Works great & the client loved it! Got him to call my instantly!
