The winners of Mashable’s Open Web Awards were announced today! MTO did not take home an OWA….but it was fun to be nominated in the how-to category and participate as a blog partner! Thanks to those of you that took a moment to vote for us!
The Open Web Award Winners are reported in two different ways, Blogger’s Choice & People’s Choice. The Blogger’s Choice Winners are chosen by blog partners from 25 countries and were announced last week. The People’s Choice Winners were announced this morning.
When it comes to your real estate business and life organization, I would tag the following OWA Winners as my favorites:
(1) Twitter- Blogger’s Choice for large scale social network. Why I like it: Broadcast and build relationships with microsharing.
(2) Clearspring- Blogger’s Choice for Embeddable Widgets. Why I like it: Use your real estate blog’s RSS feed to create an embeddable widget (of your blog content) in seriously 5 seconds! Done!
(3) ShareThis- Blogger’s & People’s Choice for Blog Plugins. Why I like it: It’s a universal plugin that will work on basically any blog platform. Nice for tight spaces, becoming a recognizable sharing tool.
(4) Delicious- Blogger’s Choice for Social Bookmarking. Why I like it: Collect and share helpful Web content based on your interests…keeps you in “the know” with industry trends and tools.
(5) Scour- People’s Choice for Search & Social Search. Why I like it: Helpful Web monitoring tool and better refine your search by specific media.
(6) Flickr- Blogger’s Choice for Photo Sharing. Why I like it: Give your pictures weight on the Internet and share them with your local market/niche. Create a group and build relationships with locals that have similar interests.
(7) FFWD- People’s Choice for Video Sharing. Why I like it: Quick and easy video management and syndication.
(8) Evernote- Blogger’s & People’s Choice for Mobile Application. Why I like it: Never be left without your task list or the info you need to complete it. Capture and record your content and make it accessible from your mobile phone, laptop, desktop, etc.
