The Signature Model S requires almost complete prepayment - $40,000 (only 1000 will be made), but you take delivery in early 2011. The regular Model S only requires a refundable $5,000 deposit and will be delivered in 2012. Quite a wait, but I still think it's worth it! The Infotainment screen is incredible! You can buy one today for half the price of a Tesla and still have a more Eco-Friendly ride than about 98% of all other vehicles on the road.
